Parts Price

I'm in the process of re-building a GT Performer and so I went by the bike shop the other day to price a 3-piece crank. Boy was I in for a shock, $110.
And this just was the crank, didn't include the sprocket or the mounting ring. Is this the going price or are the just price gouging?

$110.00 is cheap for 3 piece cranks. at that price I'm guessing they are mid to low end cranks.

i bought my profile 3piece for 70 but the shop i bought them from is real cool with me.. pnj is correct 110 is pretty cheap im guessing you were buying some haro/xs/poverty 3 piece of something like that. you could get some forged 3 piece cranks for very cheap, but they are heavy and probably about the same strength as 1 piece. that is unless you go with powerbites or something similar. i think you can get poverty forged 3 piece for like 40 bucks.
