Who's the oldes BMXer here? Have we established that? I love BMX bikes, but over thirty, can't get over the funny looks... I like the maneuverability.
We use cassette hubs now that allow us to run a smaller gearing yet maintain the same gear ratio. ie: 44 -16 is the same as 28 -10 or 25 - 9. The smaller sprocket is lighter stronger, and out of the way for ramp tricks and grinds. the only real downfall is running a cassette driver that is only 8 or 9 teeth is a lot harder on your chain and things wear out quicker. As long as you maintain your bike properly and check your chain regularly you shouldn't run into any problem.
Well that takes me back haha
My bike looks nothing like that anymore, still need to wack up a pic |

I like it. What is with the pad though?
The pad is an original california lite> it's reversable. I love it!
so you would sacrifice your bike looking sick, just for a reversible pad that a five year old should ride it?
other than the pad, i love the bike. lots of fly stuff, but they make some quality parts. |
man whats wrong with you, thats dope! thats better then 95% of what kids are riding these days.
Pads are awesome. keep them.
I'm not a kid and i'm keeping the pad for sure. Only a kid would knock it.
That pad is sick! good thinking ;)
The pad is cool, but they unfortunately don't work. Still better than the nice old toptube to the boys though.
Lol
oh and nice rare sproket.

Nankai coaster runs on all loose-ball bearings, no cages. Povah-ized stem. it's not the trendiest bike and it's a little heavy compared to some, but it works for me. most of these parts were bought second-hand but i would not have my bike any other way. |
