That's what I would get.
one thing i really like about it is the adjustable slack without even taking the wheel off the bike.
Yea I like that too.
that'll be nice for when im gettin it dialed in just right. just go ride, adjust. ride some more, make adjustments as necessary.

Is madera decent?
Madera is a Profile under its skin, the internals is all Profile and the shell is a Madera. For the price you really can't beat for a decent product.
"It's kind of surprising that Odyssey or Profile hasn't made any freecoasters yet." Correct me if I may be wrong. Hasn't Profile made shells for a freecoaster utilizing the nankai freecoaster parts so that way they too will sort of have a freecoaster of their own? Are the hub shells sold still? |
i havent seen any profile hub shells. and ive been looking around a LOT lately trying to figure out which one to get and such.
The madera cranks weigh like a pound heavier then the profiles though.
they arent that heavy. i like em. sturdy, dont weigh 40,000 lbs, and theyre made by profile.

My Haro Zippo

nobody wants it.
Also the madera's are 45 oz. Profiles are like 30ish.
i dont care how heavy they are. it doesnt matter. im not a weight weenie, i just want parts that are relatively cheap and that will last. i can always get used to a heavier bike.
All the parts i have gotten are basically used, and i got them for a hella good deal. My bike weighs 24 pounds. I can't freakin believe it. I thought it weighed around 27-28ish and i weighed it today and my lbs and it was 24!
How accurate of a scale did you use? (Bathroom scales don't count ;))
A bike shop scale. That's why it said lbs. Local Bike Shop. Sorry if that wasn't clear. It was like 24.09
word? mines like 25 right now.

the Maderas are supposed to be the cheaper version of the Profile SS's... you were probably comparing them to the Profile Minis... so in comparison... the Maderas are actually lighter |

The Profiles are 11 oz. lighter and don't cost much more than the Madera's. I think the better choice is obvious.
Yeah. I figured out how to get a better deal though i think. You buy the both the profile arms seperately for like $50 each then you buy the fsa titatium spindle for $80. Then it weighs like 25 oz. Lol. I think that would work.
I'd almost prefer heavier cranks, probably stronger
