Get a BMX?

I'm considering getting a BMX! I would like to have one to do some tricks, and for the lighter weight.

I currently ride a full suspension K2 Attack bike with discs, and would like to upgrade the forks to some Marzocchi 130mm travel ones.

I ride downhill mountain, trail, dirt road, and some street[road] riding.

My question is, would a bmx be ok for this type of riding?

Also, can I take a mountain bike into skate/BMX parks without problems riding?

My price range is 200-300. the problems I have with a BMX, is when I tried my friends Iron Horse BMx[$200]
I had a hard time steering it, and hopping over gaps like i usually can on my MTB.

So, should i get a BMX, or upgrade my current MTB?

A full suspension mtb would be really bad in a park. I would definitely point and laugh with my freinds. And of course a bmx felt weird to you, its totally different geometry. If you are a moutain biker who never rode a bmx since you were 8, your better off getting a black market frame and building it up. You can use some spare mtb parts on that frame and be somewaht budget minded and have fun.

Mathblaster is hella right.

BlkMrkt makes some nice stuff and if i'm correct it's basically S&M.

Thanks! So, it's better to buy a frame and build it up than buying a premade Iron Horse bike?

I often find old, abandoned bikes. I saw a black BMX with no grip, no chain, rusted everywhere, when i was biking. It was there for a few months now, and has a small cable lock on it. Should I get someone with a car to take me there and get it?

For some reason, whenever I see pictures of $600 BMX bikes on the forums, I can't tell the differance from a $200 BMx bike?

I looked at the frame, and its a bit expensive, considering my friends do tricks[stall, bunny hop, tire spin, 360 spini off a jump] with a $200 iron horse bike. I'm considering the bmx for school/friends riding, and tthe MTB for more serious offroad.
