Us BMXers are actually (for the most part) pretty friendly. We do clown around a bit as a whole, but are nice to other riders and will help out another rider in need.

From my experience, they are at the DJ's. They're not at the skatepark.

FitRider 921 08-18-07 06:34 PM

I only ride street, and everyone I know is more than willing to help someone else out.

wethepeople 08-18-07 06:36 PM

'cept you're bad at mechanics...

FitRider 921 08-18-07 06:38 PM

I haven't really tried to do much... if I have the right tools I can do pretty much everything other than dial in brakes.

wethepeople 08-18-07 06:47 PM

Build a wheel? Install certain cranks? set up a rear wheel perfectly centered in the frame, with good tension, and having the brakes hit at the same time on each side of the rim?

Please tell me that BMXers don't wear girls jeans...

Obviously a pro-solar mechanic.

Unless it's a girl no, at least the people I've seen so far havent.

CMcMahon 08-18-07 08:38 PM

You clearly need to pay more attention to your surroundings, then. Half the riders out there are wearing women's jeans (or men's jeans designed to emulate women's jeans) and shirts that are a size too small.

fuzzbox 08-18-07 09:07 PM

Not where I live, I only see skaters dressed like that.

I assume you have some sort of degree in mechanics...

FuzzyRyder 08-19-07 01:27 AM

I wear girls jeans. But it's more for the fact that I like the whole retro tight pants era, and they don't get caught in my chain.

bmx2478 08-19-07 01:50 AM

i lost my best pair of non-girly jeans the other day to my chain.

wethepeople 08-19-07 01:51 AM

Wrangler Cowboy cuts for the mother****ing win.

CMcMahon 08-19-07 02:53 AM

Sorry, but Levis 511s FTW.

wethepeople 08-19-07 03:00 AM

Those are actually the only jeans I currently own that fit me, and they're pretty damn nice.

Ok...we wont tell you.

I'd also like to take this time to say that whilst riding a mountain bike in a skatepark is silly, i don't hate on the people who do it. I only wonder why they just can't ride a regular bmx and save their mtb for the woods and stuff.

Riding trails on an mtb makes alot more sense, but even then, they case alot of the jumps at our local spots and their shocks make it so they can still ugly through the section. It's quite a site.

Meh. Leave the DJ's for the BMX guys for the most part, but when I do ride I never lock up and NEVER drop a bike on the landing ramp. That screws it up, and that pisses people off. Also, I never ride DJ's right after it rains.

No no no, you see this was just an observation of the majority of the riders around me with bigger wheels.

I'm sure there are respectful MTB trial riders somewhere else...just only a handful here.

OK, so what do you call respectful MTB trail riders?

Guys that aren't jerks and don't mess up the trails that the bmxer's worked so hard to make. Am I right Kinetik?

Here, it's mostly the other way around. We build the jumps, smooth it out and the BMX guys come in, bail on landing and leave ruts with their pegs. Of course, that's no worse than stupid poser kids on MTB's skidding out on the landing ramp.

Word. Those are the only jeans worth wearing.

fuzzbox 08-19-07 10:07 AM

Speaking of messing trails up some idiot came on his dirt bike and tore through all my stuff.

Well, put them where idiots with dirtbikes can't find them.

fuzzbox 08-19-07 10:29 AM

It's in the desert across my house. Making it some neighbor.

fuzzbox 08-19-07 10:37 AM

Too bad I'm not going to move them because some idiot just moved in there.

Mod Note: Fuzzbox, watch yourself. This is your warning.
