More racing shots

This time I didn't have to shoot everything wide and at ISO 1600 because of the (lack of) natural light or flash.

(I'm jealous of this dude's paint job)

Google, these are Aztec Riverside BMX racing photos from 8-25-07. Durango people can look too, why not. NM. CO.

Those are all amazing pictures. I don't like the last one as much, though- something just doesn't seem right about it.

I don't know where that is. Aztec is in northern NM, near colorado. About 100 miles over from AZ.

That last one has some motion blur, it's not that great. I want to use the moon properly in a riding photo sometime.

I missed this one the first time through, I like it:

Silver City is western I think it's by the Az border. All I know is that it took 6 hrs to get there.

Those are some great shots Madman. We used to have a photographer for our track. She was pretty good but now her son doesn't race anymore, so she doesn't take pictures. Take some of the prints of those pictures to the track director or someone in charge there, if they like 'em they might start to pay you to take more pictures of the kids.

Madman2k? Do you know anything about that paintjob? Is it a frame or a paintjob? Thanks.

Plate #2 means in his racing class he is better than almost anybody else. Racing is about getting from A to B the fastest. Style points win nothing.

awesome shots dude. looks like that last shot in the first set the shutter speed was a tad slow to freeze the action, unless you wanted the blur. out of curiosity, what camera/lens were these taken with.

Thanks, for the last one I exposed for the ambient (actually a little too much), so that's why there was ghosting after the flash pop.

I shot them with a 1D, 70-200 4.0 or 28-105, and a 550EX. Next time I'll get the flash off camera after the sun goes down and it should look better, I might even use a second flash.

I only ride the track and see how fast I can go on the rythm section without crashing.. I might race sometime, when I can afford a helmet and crap. But I'll probably come in last...

I'd definitely race if I had a lot of money kicking around and more spare time as well as parents who supported it.

nice setup man, I'm shooting with a 30D and the 70-200 f/4. yeah off camera flash placed right makes the riders just pop out of the image.

Seeing as how racing is in the olympics and such now, i bet most parents would support it more since it's a 'real sport'

Although in my eyes all of bmx was always a sport.

Anything relating to a bike is bad in my mother's eyes.
