new frame, old parts

how stupid would it be to get a new frame for my mongoose and keep the old parts, then upgrade as i progress? i dont really need top quality parts now, but i would like a new frame. any input would be appreciated.

That wouldn't really be worth it because you will spend all the money on your frame and have nothing left over for all the parts you break. Just buy a new complete.
