Handlebar problem

i just got my kink roc yesterday and put it together. Everything is fine except the handlebars. When ever i go to do a bunny hop/sometimes manual, the handle bars either move forward or back. I have tightened the 4 bolts holding on the handlebars (the only little piece holding on the handlebars). It is as tight as it can go. What should i do?

Take it off and clean it very good removing all of the grit, than when you re-install tighten down EVENLY in a star pattern.

ok, i didnt tighten them evenly or in a star pattern, would that be the definate problem 100%?, because i dont want to be ready the jump up a ledge when the handle bars swing back...
and by star pattern, you mean top left-bottom right, top right-bottom left?

Make sure that everything is tight down there. One other good way is to take the brake pads and evenly sand them down just slightly. Then clean your rim and try that.

The bike is brand new, they just need some time to bed in.

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall

And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall
Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Alice
When she was just small

When men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know

When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the dormouse said:
"Feed your head
Feed your head
Feed your head"

So, now you blame your horrible excuse for a joke on a question mark?

Tisk, tisk.

i tried the handle bar thing (star pattern evenly and wiped it down with a rag througholy) but no luck. the handlebars move less but still move when i land a bunnyhop. Im gonna take it to the bike shop tommorow if you guys dont have any other ideas.
Also, i messed around with the brakes a bit, and rode and they seem to be getting better

Tighten the stem like you've never tightened a stem before.

do you make yours that tight? I think im gonna just take it to the bike shop, let them tighten it, how much could it be? $5...free... im heading out there anyway tommorow for something else.
I like to fix things myself, but im just to scared to bunny hop and 180, i think that its gonna come loose every time i do one.

By the way, the other day before this thread, i made it so tight, rode a bit, then when i went to fix it like you guys said, it was so loose...

Were the bolts loose or what?

The first time after tightening them really tight, the bolts were loose. (but i hit them with a rubber mallet to get them tighter, that may have made them loose...)
Now since i did the star and evenly tightening method, the bolts are as tight as i made them after riding. (but the bars still move when landing bunny hops just a little bit)
