Whats up guys..
Used to ride a little back in highschool but got out of it.. so no idea where to start again. Little strapped for cash, would prefer a cruiser with the option of doing a few tricks/racing here and there.. I'll be mainly using it for commuting to school and around the city - I live in St. Pete and go to USF - and a road bike/Mtn bike just doesn't appeal to me. Tell me what you think about this deal..

Here. I made that not too long ago. But I would try to save a little bit more money and buy the DK Helio for $350.

Trying to add another bike into my life, so I want to try bmx. I found https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/bik/1232962067.html, from what I've read the frame is on the heavy side and it seems that it has a regular cupped headset. Or I can probably get a Fit AM at the local bikeshop (bike gallery) which I'll probably do tomorrow. Here's some notes, I'm a little guy maybe 5'3" 120lbs, upper body not quite strong, legs are pretty damn toned if that helps with anything

DON'T GET A FIT AM. Try to get that guy on craigslist down to at least 300. A lot of that stuff is older but still nice. Like he said, it was $1,500, 6 years ago.

If you have the money and all that they carry is Fit, get either a Fit Flow Sig bike or a TRL3, PRK3, or STR3.

So I went over and looked at their Fit bikes and the one I'm kind of leaning towards is the TRL2... Hi-ten steel... Hmm. I guess I'll try to get the TRL3 but! Is Hi-ten really that bad?

Yes hi ten is garbage. Especially considering the price of the 2 series bikes they should be chromoly. Fit gets worse and worse every year. Hi tensil steel is like building a bike out of water pipes. Doing any serious riding on it you be lucky to have the frame last you a season.

Tell you what, If I can find a Helio in Portland I'll get it, if not, then oh well..
EDIT: So I found a shop that stocked the DK Helio and it's about 6 miles away at a family/recreational bike shop. But then I forgot another bike. The Subrosa Letum https://goodsbmx.com/subrosaletumdirt2009.aspx plus it's at Goods bmx in Portland, plus it's an actual bmx shop. So now I'm gonna go for the subrosa

Is the frame not full chromoly? Because it just seems that the fork isn't, and I'm pretty sure I can solve that problem by buying a new fork.

The subrosa is crap aswell. We didn't recommend the helio and only the helio for no reason. Its the only bike worth buying in that price range.

If you're going to get a Subrosa, get a Malum or Novus. The 2010 completes are so sick.

That's a pretty good deal. But the frame is hi-tensile steel, and brakeless. I just hope you know that you can not run brakes. The wheels and forks on it are aftermarket, so that makes it better too. I'd get it.
