What mongoose should i get

Should i get a 2007 menace or an 08 mischief. I would use it for freestyle and bmx racing.

Street rider 07-10-08 10:43 AM

i would say stay away from mongoose altogether.

Yup, and freestyle and racing are different. You would need two different bikes.

man890 07-10-08 11:43 AM

Ok than just freestyle

FuzzyRyder 07-10-08 01:52 PM

minichamp31 07-10-08 07:20 PM

The actual Pro Goose's aren't extremely terrible.

Street rider 07-10-08 09:04 PM

FuzzyRyder 07-11-08 01:50 AM

Street rider 07-11-08 08:32 AM

man890 07-11-08 10:47 AM

So what kind of bike do i get for $200-250.Shipped

minichamp31 07-11-08 11:51 AM

Mongoose Team Bikes.

Street rider 07-11-08 11:55 AM

wow dude. i cant believe that theyre not that bad. thats insane. they dont look all the fresh, but specs say that they are. thats weird.

minichamp31 07-11-08 11:56 AM

We told you. Mongoose made a bad name for themselves by selling s*** bikes in X-marts. I just hope now that GT was purchased by Pacific Cycles, it won't happen to them.

FuzzyRyder 07-11-08 12:32 PM

its already happening to them, gt's dyno line is all in walmart, and the quality of there biikes has definitely dropped. Ive got an old thumper from about 7 years ago, mint and completly stock. its a sick bike everthing is chromoly, and its build beefy and built very well. dont see half that quality this bike has into there bikes today.

Street rider 07-11-08 02:10 PM

it just sucks when that happens to companies. i kinda hate to see it happen, but they do bring it upon themselves i guess.

Punx 07-11-08 04:45 PM

Get the Shield. It looks sick, and has good components.

Street rider 07-11-08 06:39 PM

word.

ascend 07-11-08 06:44 PM

Get an old goose from before they sold out

bmx2478 07-11-08 10:42 PM

My 06 fuzz was a machine!

FuzzyRyder 07-12-08 01:50 PM

yeah i had a fuzz from 03 or so, maybe older don't rememeber, and it was a solid bike. Learned how to grind on it and everything that the back end stayed straight and never even got a dent. Then i sold it.

Mongoose Rider 07-13-08 06:13 AM

Tell u wat mate i have a mongoose, and i have had it for 2 years no problem.
Then agian coz i do street and skate parks i have put new parts on only coz i wanted them.
I got the 2007 menace not 1 problem
Luke

pc_1453 09-01-08 11:53 AM

seriously, stay away from mongoose

seriously, stay away from mongoose unless they're sponsoring you. I'd got for a Haro or a We The People

FuzzyRyder 09-01-08 12:36 PM

haro sucks you idiot

exactly why do they suck?

ascend 09-01-08 04:33 PM

old thread is oooold

FuzzyRyder 09-01-08 04:40 PM

I will admit their completes are getting better, but most of there stuff is still a little behind compared to what alot of companies are coming out with now.

bmx2478 09-01-08 04:42 PM

Yeah, Haro has never really brought anything new to the table.
They have sort of always been just OK bikes.

Dyno was introduced originally as the entry level GT bikes - they never were meant to be any better than dept store bikes really.
