Brakes...
What is up with my brakes? Sometimes I have a better chance of stopping by running into a car.
Sometimes, they are very forceful, but most times, they are very slippery and don't do very much for me, as far as stopping goes. If I squeeze the handle as hard as I can, going down a hill slowly or fast on flatland, the brakes just slip. They are approximately 6-7 years old. I think they need to be replaced. Which brake pads will work with a TekTrek system?

I'm having the same problem, but one of my friends told me that it's usually the rotor that weakens brakes. I'd try just getting a cable and running it straight to the brakes. I've still gotta get around to trying it, so no guaranteesas to whether it'll work or not.
