What are the disadvantages of mag wheels , if there are any.

they flex horribly
horrible braking surface
they crack and break
super heavy

The only advantage of mags is the old-school throw back. Aside from that, modern lace-em-ups are so good, all the things we faced with spoked wheels in the past are no longer problems. Spoke wheels of today, even the 36's, are stronger and lighter than any mag wheel.
