I see threads about converting a BMX so adults can ride them. Well, been there, done that. Love it, it's fun to ride, and works very well also easy to put in the back of the car. Here's the scoop. If you want pic's, & info I'll send them to ya. Just e-mail me. SEAT: I ordered a piece of 1" X 24" aluminum rod from a place in Tx. Had a friend of mine who had a lathe turn an 1 1/4 " of one end down to 7/8 " [for the seat], and took a tad off the rest so as to fit in the seat post hole. "O", I took off about 4 "s off the length, mybe 3" [to make it fit me]. The handlebars [the hard part, no not really] I done that with 2 sets of handlebar risers. You aint gona believe how cool it looks. Like putting the black rubber foam around all the components. Looks factory. Old people ask me, "Where did you buy that bike at, I want one, tell me where!!" A BMX being sized for an adult, is more about the length of the front triangle. Most good ones are plenty long enough. It would be nice if one inch diameter seat posts were available longer than 350mm, though. I'm almost at maximum extension, with the seat up for distance riding.

Your seat post is a solid piece of aluminum? That sound as heavy as my solid 22mm crank spindle. (OLD set of Primos)

Greyryder, Hi there. My seat post comes in a 1.8 lb's. Not bad I think. If you get a bike like mine "Nirve Panic", it's to begin with, but that's OK with me. I wanted a well built, and very strong bike, and that it is. It's made for Free Style computation. It's made of Chrome Moly steal, feels like a tank. Regards
