who do you look up to?

I look up to a lot of the guys who are making a living at it while not becoming trendy *******s. There is no question that the tattoed thug attitude that some riders have just pisses me off. I know people who were really cool before they were pros but became pro and just started acting like jerks. It pisses me off when someone is so shallow that they lose their grip on the real world... and even worse is that other people enable that crap.
Anyway: Matt Wilhelm & Tom Haugen are probably two of my favorites for maintaining their ability to be decent human beings while still being pros and just generally nice guys. Rick Thorne is one who always says "Hi' when a friendly face goes by which is cool.
For skill and dedication, I respect every pro rider really... but those guys really stand out for trying to be good people and being a good rider is just a part of it.

Kyle Bennett is an awesome rider and is really cool to talk to also. He has killer track skills. Robbie Miranda is really cool too. Most all of the pros are really down to earth guys.

I met alot of riders at woodward and fdr and most are cool, really cool, but alot are not, including dave mirra. I'll tell you who is the NICEST rider and person I have ever met.. Darryl Nau.. Nicest ever.

I've met most of the pros and there are no street riders that I would be to commital on with my brief encounter with them. Tom Haugen because every contest I go to he makes an effort to come over and say hi - he rode in a show with me when he was like 14 or something and only rode flatland. Amazing flatland skills from that guy.
Chad seems pretty cool - I really only met him once, but went over and watched Lord of the Rings at his house and he was talking about the Mt. Dew commercial he shot.
Lavin was cool - went out drinking with him and some other guys once. Actually he didn't drink at all, he had to ride the next day... Pretty freakin' level headed. I always had a hangover during my final runs.
Flatlanders are a different story - I respect them all, and have several that I think are particularly cool. But there are also those that I don't like that much. So, I just leave them alone and will continue to do so. Some people think I don't like them because they may get ragged on a little bit in a write up on my site. That's just not true though - when I write an article, I call it as I see it at that time. It has nothing to do with the person but with their run and the judges and the contest. Some riders get placed unquestionably high for no good reason and I call the judging out and some riders get pissed because of that. There are also riders who come up and thank me for writing an accurate article of what went down and some of the BS that goes on with judging at a contest... Those are the ones that get a little more respect from me.

I look up to anyone taller than me. Or if they're on a ladder.
