Racing Helmet

Hey everyone, any racers out there, what helmet are you using? Ideally id love a TLD but dont want to spend a fortune so im considering Pryme,Odyssey,Netti,Giro, etc.Would love to hear from anyone with reccomendations or warnings.

I have a Bell, no complaints. I got it for either $30 or $60, (normally $120) it was on clearance, I think at https://www.pricepoint.com.

I've also got a pryme, it's a really nice helmet to have even though i don't use it too often.(just at derailed, which is the skatepark in amarillo that requires you to wear a helmet, it's a bad ass park though.)

just some words of wisdom here, try to get the best helmet money can buy. who cares about the price, at the end of the day it could save your life.

i reacently knocked my self out at interact skate park and got left with concussion, whiplash and shock (throwing up and all!), if it wasnt for my deacent helmet i could of ended up with brain damage but im only escaped with a smashed face.

I gotta agree with you there. The very first time i took my Bmx down to the race track(24/12/04) to have a ride around i ended up crashing off a jump and ended up with skin off my entire arm from my forearm to my shoulder,a busted up knee which i still cant bend and a bloodied thumb which still hurts in the socket.I was lucky i had my road cycling helmet on so i didnt do any damage to my head. But i hobbled straight out and got the Fly helmet.

i've had my pro-tec for ages, i use it mostly for commuting, but since i grew up spending the better part of my youth on a bmx or skateboard, i can't imagine putting on a roadbike helmet. just can't stoop that low. the thing is that the foam is deteriorating on the inside, and the only other similar-style helmets i've seen around are all styrofoam on the inside, and total cr*p. my head is more like a peanut than an egg, and those helmets seem to be made for perfect spheres.
i can appreciate that the styro may be safer, but not when it doesn't fit my head... any suggestions?

Pricepoint has the 661 Full Comp on sale for $50, it's a great full face helmet for BMX. I've used the Pro-tec for skating and gas scooters. If you know your size, there's always good deals on them on ebay.

Seems to me he posted here because his helmet no longer properly fits his peanut shaped head. I threw in my 2 cents bceause I found some good prices on quality helmets.
