nope, i dont entirely understand them myself but all i know is that you dont have to pedal backwards while going backwards, you can just keep you feet level. The thing i dont get is that you can pedal forwards aswell

Freecoasters have a clutch mechanism that allow you to rollback without having to backpedal if you disengage them (by backpedaling a tiny, tiny amount); they reengage when you start to pedal forwards again.

when doing a rollback, when you pedal foward it doesn't engage right away. the crank moves about15 degrees before it engages.

Why do people even waste there time with freecoasters? Does it make riding fakie easier for them, or is it just a preferance?

mainly they are used by flatlanders who often spend a lot of time on their rear wheel.

for street/park, they don't make rollbacks easier, just different. most people that use a freecoaster have a hard time getting used to a freewheel but after a short time (five minutes, give or take) they can rollback with a freewheel just fine. the same goes for those that are used to pedaling backwards, it takes a few minutes to get used to NOT pedal while rolling backwards. what am I trying to say? if you can rollback, you can rollback. to use one hub over the other is just personal choice.

However, freecoasters can help out when doing really technical stuff where you want your pedals to be in a given place. such as, on a mini ramp, abubaca to fakie, to nosepick to 180 to fakie to ice pick to fakie, etc.

It was super hard for me to do a roll back on my friends freecoaster because when I roll back I never realy pedal forward I just keep them straight after I turned more than half way around. So when I tryed on a freecoaster it was realy hard for me to actualy pedal forward when I turned around.

Is there any difference between a flip flop hub and a left side drive compatible hub? Is F/F mean it can be left or right and does left side drive means only left side? On the acs 888 freewheel it says you don't need a f/f hub to run it left side, so that means that I can take my right side only hub and put that on there? If so, does this make it very weak or could I still ride street, park, and dirt with it?

Theres not realy a exact height. It all depends on how fast you can whip your back tire around.

A flip-flop hub is a hub that can accept 13-15-tooth freewheels, rather than the 16-20+-tooth freewheels (and the 15-tooth AC Racing freewheel), not a hub that has left-hand drive. And, no, you can't take a right-hand drive freewheel and put it on the left.
