Right.....how do you get these mo-fo's back straight. On a high 360 i case'd up on the downside of a box pretty bad. The huge beast's downside has a transition and a slammed into the top of it . anyways i know you fekk around with the tension of spokes but wich ones??

where the rim flicks out a little to the side, do you tighten them? and in tightening them, do you loosen others. i am very scared of touching it with out proper knowlage.

any help from anyone is gratefull (i know i work in a bike shop n all but i dont specialize in wheels, just everything alse)

It sounds like you may have bent the rim not just messed up the tensioning. I would take it to a bike shop to see what they would do but don't let them do anything unless it just needs to be trued. Its probably easier just to let them do that because thats probably on of the hardest things to do (maintance wise) to your bike. And don't let them give you a new rim cus my friend did that and the bike shop was lazy and gave him a new wheel and charged him like 160 for something that could have been fixed for 50 bucks.

If a shop tries to charge you $50 to true a rim, than you're getting ripped off. It shouldn't cost any more than $20.

Realy i need to learn to do it, ill give it to one of my mates at work after christmas and they can hopfully teach me. If anyone does know the trick to doing it, please help me out

If you really want to learn you would need a trueing stand to make sure your getting it right or rig something up. And at my LBS it cost about 7.50 to get it trued. The 50 dollar estimate was for a new rim.

No you don't at all, all you need is a spoke key that will fit the nipples of your spokes and two thighs to grip the wheel with, oh and some eyes to see the buckle with.

Follow this and you will find it much easier, you'll end up being able to build or true a wheel in under an hour.

if you want it perfect get a stand or take it to a good shop. if you want it rideable just stomp the bend out. works for me at races
