Tripple whips?
I heard some rumors about someone doing/getting very close to a tripple tailwhip. My source wasn't very reliable but still, have you guys heard anything about this?

Greg Gulliote (spelling?), who was a pro in the early '90s, claimed in a letter to Ride a year or two ago that he could do them, along with a bunch of other new tricks. It was never confirmed, and highly doubted.
On the other hand, at the rate that Scotty Cranmer (and plenty of other riders) progresses, I wouldn't at all be surprised to see it soon; according to several people, including Bob from Staff BMX, he's doing frontflip turndowns now.

Dave and Mat have their share of tricks they have invented, but there are thousands of tricks that were invented before those guys.
Tons of vert tricks came out of flatland (ie: tailwhip), and tons of flatland tricks progressed into newer tricks. The days of RL Osborn, Eddie Fiola, Mike Dominguez, Dizz Hicks, Ron Wilkerson, and dozens of other guys paved the way for the tricks of today. It is rumored that Mike was the first to ever pull a 900 on vert, just not in a contest - though he tried.
Flatland stuff was progressing before the Plywood Hoods and Kevin Jones and crew pushed it even further. Now, riders like Jorge and Alex are taking it further still.
Vert and street are almost the slowest to progress with tons of tricks existing for over 15 years. More than half the tricks that exist today are older than 15 years I would guesstimate.

Just reminding people that what they think is new and cool may be well over 10 years old... Tailwhips are ancient - one of the most old school tricks around. Well over 10 years old and triple whips were if nothing else, at least attempted a good 15 years ago... When most of the bmx riders on these forums were less than a stain on their parents sheets.
