Modification for the Odyssey/Haro freecoasters.
Hello chaps,
I just thought I'd drop you a line about a mod I've been working on for the Odyssey freecoaster. Inside the hub, where the springs sit there is a hole in the axle, this has a 10mm thread in it. I took an old long 10mm bolt, cut it so it just fits in the moving collar, and ground three flat spots on it so it dosen't interfere with the washers and it gives some space around the springs. This is then threaded into the hole in the axle and acts as a barrier to the springs moving out of position and causing a slip. I was testing this recently and had favorable results until the bearing on the cog side packed up. Use this mod at your own risk!!!! But it seemed ok on my hub. Good luck and happy pedalling.
Just for intrest,I'm using the hub again with no problems yet!!!! I'll keep you posted about how well the mod works.

I've just done a complete strip down and rebuild of my hub and I'm pleased to report that everythings ok in side the hub.
The mod bolt is still in its place and the springs show no sign of damage.
I'll keep you posted of any further developments.
