1981 Mongoose Motomag
I am working on refurbishing a 1981 Mongoose that belonged to my younger brother and I would like to hear some thoughts regarding whether it would be worth the time and effort that it will require to get it back on the streets. It has a nickel frame and a custom build set. Fork is a chrome Redline and the other parts are a mixture of Japanese and American components. I know nothing about BMX bikes and would like to find out if this bike would even be worth the effort it will take to get it back to a ride-able condition.
I did get some helpful information from the fellows at Vintage Mongoose and they were able to verify the serial number and the frame model for me.
Thanks for your help.

The Redline fork was a popular upgrade back then ---- as far as riding it goes, whatever floats your boat . If the frame is in good shape, it sounds like it would shape up to be a nice looking wall hanger though
Geometry and sizing was about right for a child up to maybe 12 or 13 , but its not the right bike for an adult sized rider
