Hey Mose, Zerotopanmass and all you other PMCers...
How was your PMC ride? Seems the weather cooperated for you. This is our first year not riding together and I must confess that we kind of missed it. I'm hoping you'll share a highlight or two...

It was great weather, and a great time as always!
Here are a few of my pics I snapped over the weekend:
Me in the starting lane, admittedly, not terribly excited about waking up at 3:45. They started us a half hour early this year (5:30):
But it's ok, because I was very chipper by the end of the first day, in the dorm room in Bourne :
Bike at an early stop for lunch (9:30 am), which was just some almonds and raisins for me:
Food tent at MMA:
P-town Inn, end of day 2:
Boston, from the ferry:
Fireboat escort :
Our adoring and dedicated fans (friends and family)...

This was my 8th and it gets better every year. The weather was great both days, although a bit warm on Saturday (I'm from Maine, we don't know "warm"). As always, it's quite the emotional rollercoaster. "Jack" was at his post with his sign that now reads "I'm 13 now thanks to you!". I have his picture from 5 years ago when it read "I'm 8 now thanks to you!" on my computer. That young man is the real deal - THAT'S why we ride! Too many sad instances to mention, lot's of great survivor stories too. People cheering, bagpipes played, and a tailwind coming into P-town!
My "brush with greatness" - rode 20 miles in a group that included Uta Pippig - yes, she rips!

The volunteers, the cops, mechanics, etc. none of them get the praise they deserve if you ask me. Without all of them that ride is a different ballgame all together. I love seing the pictures and hearing the stories as I miss a fair amount of the pomp and circumstance. I stay with friends that live within eye shot of the MMA and then they pick me up by boat on Sunday. Private room, great food, best friends, cold beer, boat ride; yes, I'm spoiled rotten! Even caught a few fish on the boat ride home! What a BLAST!

I agree with you about the volunteers. Particularly the massage therapists

I caught the opening/closing telecasts on NECN. Looks like it was a great ride, as usual. This year, I was limited to Katelyn's Ride and volunteering for a couple PMC Kids' Rides. Next year, my wife and I will be organizing the first Kids' Ride in Springfield, MA. And I WILL be back for the PMC next year. Despite the stuff I did this year, just didn't feel like I was a part of it.
Ya had to love that boat ride from P-Town to Boston!!
Great job to all!!

Mose, you look a little too darned perky at MMA. I'm not sure if you rode hard enough that first day! Love your pics... thanks!
Did John Kerry ride this year? I love how he draws NO attention to himself but quietly just rides and raises a ton of dough for the cause.
