Bill Ritchey Road Bike (1974?)
EDIT: I know that the thread title is wrong. don't quite know why i typed bill.
Hey everyone, new here, obviously.
Ran across this guy at goodwill for 19 dollars. Saw the campagnolo gears on it and decided it was worth it despite it being the largest bike i have ever seen.
Can i get an appraisal on it?
I've done a little bit of research on it and it seems like these are very rare, but not sure what the market for it is with a frame this huge.
De-greased everything a bit after i took pics and it cleaned up nicely with some minor rust spots. going to clean it more thoroughly and prepare it to sell.

That's got to be the tallest bike I have ever seen... But for 19$. I would have bought it cleaned it up and found a place on the Wall for it. I have always wanted a "Tom" Ritchey Road Bike.

I'd keep the parts and sell the frame.

Contact Tom Ritchey, send him a pic -- maybe he can recall who K Keyes is, since this was a custom ------ perhaps MR Keyes would like a re-union with the machine, or his family would -- who knows

Found the serial number on the underside.
TR0064
Looks like it was made by Ritchey between 1974 and 1975 in his first run.
anyone have a value for this bike?

Not really cricket using the evaluation forum as a promotional tool.
Keep in mind, tall guys are cheap.
This is a huge frame, made by a legendary builder, but many want a frame size they can ride.

It appears to have an oval seat tube at the BB lug?
Does it have 27" wheels?
Hubs are Phil Wood.
In addition to what I previously mentioned....new bat tape, new cables, new saddle. Spending a couple hundred to get it right will go a long with the sale.

I'd fix if it were my size.. but I'll let the buyer take that adventure.. that's the fun part.

Pretty safe bet that this is worth more than $19. Nice score. These are pretty desirable bikes but the size is going to hurt the value.

Holy sh$$t....that turned up at goodwill! Too bad it's so tall. ..I believe Keyes was one of Ritchy's riding buddies back in the day. Anyhow, if it's a true Ritchey in good condition, it could sell for over $2000+. Didn't Miamijim recently sell his eary Ritchey frame on ebay for around 2k?

Miamijim and I actually might have a deal on it.
