Early 70's Rolls Colnago, legit or scam?
I was browsing vintage road bikes on Ebay, as I love to do, when I came across this ad for a Rolls Colnago with a fantastic history.
So I came here and looked for info on the bike, which I was not familiar with. My search led me to this archived thread.
If you read down the thread to "lolaworks" comment, you'll see that it matches word for word the Ebay listing. That threw me for a loop, and made me suspicious of a scammer. OR, it could be that "lolaworks" is selling his/her bike. Weird?

Lazy seller just copied & pasted.
Only the first part of that seems applicable to that frame.
No cut out on the BB, so that Colnago stuff is like those word problems you used to get in math class, extraneous info.

Hey, I know it's a little late to respond, but I just found your post. I'm the guy that wrote the original message. That ebay listing is not my bike, and I have nothing to do with the listing, though the guy does seem to have stolen my story and historical note. I actually grew up in a town 2 away from Piermont, and that is in the general vicinity of the bike shop that sold Rolls Colnagos--Cyclesport of Park Ridge, NJ. I have a feeling that this is a non-Colnago Rolls, though the pictures have been removed. If there was no cloverleaf in the BB it's not a Colnago. I find the fact that they guy lifted my story is creepy and I'm tempted to call the bike shop and ask what's up with that.
