2000 Trek 5500 value
I have a pearl white Trek 5500 that I'm thinking of selling as it's really a bit too big for me. I have little idea what it is actually worth. Has less than 1000 miles on it. Rolf Vector Pro wheels, Gran Prix 3000 tires (originals) full DuraAce, integrated Flight Deck computer, 2 rear cassettes (has a 105 on it now with gearing to make it a little easier to climb with) Bike is pretty much new other than a few rub marks where the cables have left a mark on the paint. Just tuned up. No seat.
62cm seat tube, 33.5" stand over height.

thanks

Great looking bike! Not vintage, not classic. May want to try the road forum. I see you are in the upstate of NY, which is likely not a very good market. What method/venue do you plan to use for the sale? Unfortunately, it is 11 years old, so it has depreciated a lot. Nice bike for sure, but in my experience, selling high end bikes from that era are really tough to get value out of. The XL size will also greatly limit market. Around here, XL frame sizes go at a significant discount. As a buyer, I recommend people wanting a modern bike look at something 10 years old or so, as you can get a lot for your money. As a seller, its just the opposite.

I'm going to try Craigslist first, but will ebay it if it doesn't sell. Thanks for the info...kinda what I thought, but I'm still curious as to opinions on value.
