The price seems fair for the bike. This is a rather large bike for someone around 6'2"+.

Seems like an OK price, I see no flip potential

Didn't these have issues with the lugs coming apart? They were glued together and sometimes the glue wasn't put on correctly and the tubes would come out of the lugs. Regardless, there is zero potential for a flip here, the size of the bike and the so-so components will hinder any potential monies to be made.

Why does that rear tire look like it is touching the seat tube mounted FD?

It's full retail FMV, so where would the upside be? Plus, you would have to be 6'3" or taller to ride it.

Regarding aluminum Techniums, guys who own them love them, the rest of the world, not so much. I bought a 440 this summer off a scrapper, sans a wheelset, for $10.

I recently bought a 1986 technium 460 for $150 in DC, considering the market, I think it was a pretty good deal. I like the bike, don't think most of the components are anything special, but it rides well enough for me to get around the city, and wasn't so expensive that I'd be devastated if (when?) it eventually gets stolen. From my understanding, those aluminium frames that have lasted tend to be well put together. Don't see much flip potential though, since there's nowhere near the demand that there is for a colourful "vintage" french bike that seems to drive up prices in this area

I sold a Technium 440 about a year and a half ago. I am a steel guy and didn't care for the bike. It worked just fine on my trainer though. I paid $65 for it and sold it for significantly more.

Care to say how much "significantly more" is?

I have an '89 Technium PRE road bike I scored for 100.00 in unbelieveably great condition. Having put many miles on this black beauty there has been no frame difficulties whatsoever. The indexed shifter works great. I wouldnt have any second thoughts on recommending a Technium's reliability.
