Mid 80's Schwinn Cimarron What's the value?

Im' going to put my old Schwinn Cimarron Mnt Bike on Craigslist to sell, btu have no idea what it's worth, if its worth anything at all. Its got Shimano components all around ( Shimano Deore shifters, shimano breaks) so I think it was a good bike back in its day. Its very ridable now thought the breaks don't stop it super well. Anyone have any idea what this might go for? Tks

Depending on your market, somewhere between $150-$250.

I look at the condition and am thinking more like 100-125. But thats highly market dependent, but beat up MT bikes are typically not high value bikes

The paint looks pretty scuffed up, at least at the stays and the chainrings, with some rust too. IMHO, $150 +/- !0%. Also, when you post, spell it brakes, not breaks. Spelling does make a difference.

That looks like an '89 Cimarron, which was the last year of production. That year it had 5 sets of bottle mounts, 4 on the frame and one on the stem. It appears to be all original (not sure about the saddle) and there are people looking for these. It does have a pretty small frame (17"?), which may limit desirability. I'd put it on eBay to get maximum value, make sure you take lots of pics and include the frame serial number and headbadge number. I'd say $250 to $500 on the value on eBay, less if sold locally via CL.

Nutty, but cool.

Nutty, cool and thirst quenching.

I'd say $150 max. Top of the line in its day, but MTBs fall off a cliff in value due to rapid technology changes. The reality is that no one is going to use this bike for technical off-road mountain biking anymore. Its uses are as a commuter, winter bike, or maybe a drop-bar touring bike for a really motivated person. Still, I don't see more than $150 here especially with the somewhat rough paint.
