Identify Vintage Falcon

I have a possible buy on this vintage Falcon, that was repainted a few years ago, original color unsure of, covering up the decals and there's no head badge. The person and spouse were avid riders so it is a Falcon. Frame only was bought before 1983 and maybe within 5 years of that according to the spouse.

Note the gold Campy brakes, and there are other Gold campy components, what's up with the gold???
The bike has been outfitted with Deore rear der and cranks, since the expert spouse said "Campy never shifted that well..."

Everything looks great, even a Brooks saddle

Any guesses on model and steel? Worth?

There are many things that impact the value of a vintage road bicycle. Have a look through Determining Vintage Bicycle Value and you will begin to see that things like, location, size, vintage, model, make, your marketing skills and other things will dramatically impact value.

That said, one thing that really lowers the value of a vintage road bicycle is a repaint. Unless you can prove it to be something special, in this case a Falcon, it is just another bicycle frame and worth considerably less than one might expect. Why does painting a bicycle attack its value? Have a look at Should I Paint My Bicycle?

As for value, what ever the bicycle is, it is pretty high end, to say the least. That Campy gold anodized componentry is unusual and special to collectors, suggesting considerable value. How much value is beyond me, at the moment. If you buy the bike, make sure you get the replaced components, if you can.

Good luck with the bicycle, is appears to be a beauty.

Are you able to post any pics that show the actual bike?

The gold anodized parts are fairly scarce. You don't see them often. Not to my taste but some like them. Are all the aluminum parts on the bike gold anodized? The bike looks very fancy and in quite good condition, just based on what little we can see.
