Peugeot Folding Bikes, can someone help identify year, size, parts? Thanks
hello everyone. I just purchased my second peugeot bike and I dont have much info on it. can someone help? It is a green color, what size is the bike. I need to replace tires and not sure what size they are and if i can still find new old stock? what are they worth? Are these rare?

From its general appearance it looks like it might be a mid-seventies model similar, but not identical, to these. It doesn't look like the UNS 40 folds, and the DA 40 E doesn't have a rear derailleur or the same folding mechanism. I don't believe these and similar models are particularly rare.

have one here that i took in as an incomplete "basket case." take it to be from the early '70's. main frame tube is round rather than oval and it lacks the portage handle of poster's machines.

This 1980 PNSM 40 looks like it has the same rear derailleur and folding mechanism.

If the bike is a PNSM 40, it looks like the tires are Michelin 550A middleweight (490mm BSD x 37mm)

Looks like the bike should take 22" 490 BCD 35 or so width tires. You should be able to order these tires from a bike shop or online as others have said. Both Michelin and Sunlite offer fairly nice new white wall versions of these tires for $15.00-25.00 a piece. These bikes are not excpeptionally rare (a lot of them where sold in Europe and England not so many in the US) or valuably they just a nicer than average basic folder really nice examples go for around $200.

Guys, thank you so much for the info, I found a spot in Greenpoint Brooklyn, that sells the black wall tire for $9. bucks. @Scooper, it looks like i have that model.

Not much. Of the common vintage folders, the Raleigh Twenty is probably the best and its value is limited. I've kept my Raleigh folder just for the heck of it and donated the rest. Best way to get value from s vintage folder is to ride it.
In my market I could not get the $200 figure mentioned above. There are a couple for sale that have been reposted on CL for a couple of years.

If I may ask? I have an old peugeot folding bike also. On the frame hinge box? What parts are there to the knob that turns to tighten the frame together? Could one of you take a picture of the assembly please.

our shop in San Diego sold that green folder in the early 80s. I'm surprised you got a line on 550A tires.
Peugeot USA based in Calif. didn't have them. we had to order from Mel Pinto Imports in Va. he's
no longer in business. I think we used common 24 x 1 3/8 tubes
