OK,the S/N indicates it was manufactured in December 1984 by Bianchi's Japanese contractor. So, it should be a 1985 Bianchi model. Not at home now to check the literature. I know the Randonneur was produced through the 1984 model year but not sure about 1985. BG?

What if the lighting is bad and what we think is black is actually that dark Sierria Green and this is an '86 Portifino? I am having trouble discerning whether it has lower rider bosses on the fork though.

Yes it does appear to have canti bosses on the fork that look to maybe for a slightly smaller wheelset.
