Old Bianchi.

Hi - I am a newbie to the forum and happy I found you. I bought a couple of bikes from a local man, now in his 90's who can no longer ride. But he appears to have good taste in Italian bikes.

One is a 1970's Colnago Super and the other an old Bianchi. I think it may be 1950's as i found an image of a Campione del mondo from 1950's which looks very close. Here are the specs:

Unfortunately I cannot yet post images, another kind member revealed a link to a couple of my images - www.bikeforums.net/g/album/14811721

Specs:

Bianchi Campione del mondo from 1950's

Serial Number - 164558

Size:

seat tube (c-t): 58cm
top tube (c-c): 57cm
headset tube: 16cm
standover: 83 cm

Front Derailleur: Campagnolo Record

Rear Derailleur: Campagnolo Record

Headset: Bianchi

Crankset: Compagnolo Strada 53/39

Bottom bracket : Bianchi

Pedals / Toestraps: Comapgnolo

Stem: TTT Special, 110m

Handlebar: TTT, Grand Prix 37cm (c-c)

Brake Levers: Campagnolo

Brakes: Campagnolo. Brev Inter.

Hubs: Bianchi

Rims: Nisi (32/40)

Seat: Brooks Professional

Pump: Matching / Bianchi logo.

Can anyone speculate the value of this bike ? Any help or input would be much appreciated.

Many of the cycle's fittings are of a date later than you suggest for the machine.

3TTT brand products did not launch until 1964.

The Campangolo Record model rear derailleur launched December 1963.

Campagnolo Record model front derailleur launched 1959-60.

Campagnolo Record model brakes launched 1968-69.

Machine could of course predate these fittings and have been revised over time...

Agreed, there are some later replacement parts but the derailleurs and stem may be OEM, as the frame is mid-1960s.

If the cycle's Campag Record hubs are original to it you will be able to get a specific date from the inner face of the hub axle locknuts.

Would expect something in the 1964-67 window.
