Schwinn Collegiate with 3 speed Sturmey Archer Hub
Hey gang, got me a gem of a Collegiate. All-new parts, tektro brakes, sun rims, new hardware, new cables, new shifter, rebuilt Sturmey Archer 3-speed. Just a great run-around bike. What with all the upgrades do you guys think it's worth?
Sorry, being a newbie, im not allowed to post pics.

...speaking generally from personal experience in my location, you're lucky to sell it on CL for the money you have into it on parts. There's not a huge market for these, even though they are very serviceable campus / town bikes. And the Tweed Ride people want the UK stuff.

I'm glad you think that way, but all I've had in SoCal is lookie-loos and the typical CL cheapos that want everything for half price.
I literally had a dad want to buy it for his college-age kid, who was going to Santa Barbara (UCSB is not a cheap school), cruise up in his luxury SUV with shoes that were worth more than my whole outfit and bike put together, offer me half the price I was asking for claiming that I'd be helping out a struggling college student.
I'm hoping someone on here can appreciate what a value this thing is.

...I used a similar bike as a commuter in Merced for three or four years. I loved that bike...it was purple. Mine had the original wheel rims on it, so not nearly as fun to ride as yours. It's a shame more people don't appreciate these for what they are, but that's how it is I guess.
