Repainted Colnago ID worth

Hello guys, just unpacked this one from the courier. The information i have from seller is that the bike is Colnago saronni 89 with Campagnolo Athena 2x8sp groupset. The frame size is 55.5cc/55.5cc cm, the frame is repainted and tube sticker sais SLX (i think its SL - no rifling in seat tube). seatpost is 27.2mm. Frame have alot of panthographs repainted with some ****ty nailpolish or something like that, not very accurately done. Wheels are Campagnolo Strada hardox, with some funny spokes on the front wheel. Seems like in good mechanical condition, still havent tested it on the road. For me the paint fine, but atleast i wish to put some proper decals, can u please help me identify the model. Price i paid is 550 euros, which i think is fair but you might have different opinion!

Ive uploaded more pictures on https://imgur.com/a/qGTbDKz

Hello,

I will start with a disclaimer: there are people more knowledgeable that me for this. Having said that, my guess would be an early (c.1992-93?) Super Piu. I don't think the rear brake cable had this configuration in 1989. Both entry and exit were on top of the top tube. Early 90s would also make sense with most of the groupset, except the crankset, which is more likely mid-80s. Looking at the pictures, the rear chrome looks dull. It was probably painted originally. The paint details were badly restored, especially on the chromed fork. But with patience, this is easy to redo since you can gently scrape the extra with a blade (on chrome only!).

Edits: As for tubing, I think the Conix SLX was in SLX and the Super Piu in SL. There was also the Super, which was in a lower grade Cro-Mo, but I think it did not have the club detail on the top of the seat stays.

Hope you will enjoy the ride!

Looks more like a C91 or C92 to me.
They have a bad reputation for their paint which is probably why it was repainted.
Decals should be white. Head tube lugs should be chromed, but are likely corroded if the previous owner chose to paint over them.
Chrome should only be visible on the driveside chainstay.

Rear derailleur looks pretty bad tbh, You should at the very least try and replace the adjuster as well as the outer and inner shift cable. That loop needs to be larger for reliable shifting.

The Dura Ace barrel adjusters may not be "correct" but are way better than their Record equivalent

You are both right! Groupset is for sure not factory. Ive never had campagnolo bike and its a little bit scary on first glance, but afaik Campagnolo is suited better to repairs and fixing.

Thats correct, there is no chrome on the rear triangle. Managed to remove the details paintings on the fork, not sure if i can do it on the frame itself (probably will damage the paint also)
The RD had twisted and broken adjuster bolt, most likely because of not enough loop as Mackers mentioned.
