2007 Novara Randonee (I’d be comfortable calling it NOS)

I could use some help determining the value on this Stallion. REI’s current offerings (Co-Op Cycles) for a tourer range from $1200-$1600 and IMO aren’t nearly the level of the bulletproof 2007 Novara Randonee.

Best Use

Road Cycling

Frame

Reynolds 520 cromoly

Fork

Cromoly

Crankset

Shimano Deore 26/36/48

Bottom Bracket

Shimano Deore Octalink

Shifters

Shimano Tiagra

Front Derailleur

Shimano Tiagra

Rear Derailleur

Shimano LX

Rear Cogs

SRAM PG-950 11/34 x9

Brakes

Shimano R550 Cantilever

Brake Levers

Shimano Tiagra

Rims

Mavic A319S

Front Hub

Shimano Tiagra

Tires

Vittoria Randonneur 700x32

Handlebar

Ritchey BioMax

Stem

Ritchey angle adjust

Seat Post

Ritchey Comp V2

Saddle

Fizik Rondine

Pedals

Platform w/toe clip

Headset

FSA Orbit X

Chain

Shimano HG73

Talk about REI’s Novara doin you a “Solid”! How do you put a value on this??? It’s basically NOS and IMO a better quality bike. I greatly appreciate any thoughts on this. My guess (I’m a loose cannon retro moddin gotta ride all of them bike lovin’ neophyte) says $900 all day every day. How am I doing?

Thank you all kind people!

Franken Stone

P.S. I’ll get you a pic of the extra spokes clipped on the chainstay in the morning.

Purchased and stored. Nipples still on original tires. L.A. to NYC.....piece of cake for this stud.

Reynolds 520 Chromoly Steel, 57cm.

Ritchey, Shimano, FSA

Angle adjustable stem.

This may not be the right forum to answer your questions. We tend to deal with bikes built in the 80s and older here in Classics and Vintage.

Not old enough to attract C&V interest. Too old to be modern. Not a great spot to be IMO.

I think the number is about half your estimate, depending on the market of course.

Uhmmmmm Mulligan! I’m calling in for a do-over. My apologies to all who come here. Sometimes I do things that may support the theory that I have evolved from the shallow end of the gene pool.

Nice bike - maybe $400 or so . NAmes like Deore,(modern Deore), ,and Tiagra are typically attached to entry level machines --- not that thats a bad thing -- its a nice bike, but not $900 nice.

If you already bought it , no worries , the price will be forgotten after a few thousand miles !

Thanks DMC707!!! I appreciate your time Sir. I’m just a late blooming bicycle addict. I received this Novara Randonee, a 72 Raleigh Pro Mark IV, a 1990 Klein, a 1995 Cannondale SR500 a 1979 bright yellow 24” wheel 10 speed and a Nishiki Maxima as a thank you from my neighbors daughter for being the neighborhood watch volunteer that singlehandedly thwarted 2 burglaries across the street from me. I would love to ride all of them but my legs can’t reach the pedals! Thanks again my friend.

It's a nice bike, but the market for a fully-loaded triple-brifter rim-brake touring bike is pretty small. If it were my bike, I'd post it on the local CL for $700 and drop the price by ~$25 every week until it sold.

Thank you my friend. I’d love to keep it but after riding it for about 3 miles my knees said “OH HELL NO!!” Great advice. Thank you again. I’m 5’6”.

Agree with kingston - start at$700. Not sure if demand is the same as summer 2020, but last year inventiries had dried up by June.

Update on value

I had this bike on CL locally and on eBay ($150 shipping to lower 48) for $700. Had a local that loved it, said it rode fantastic and was torn between the Novara and a Trek. The Novara was 2cm bigger (57cm) than what his normal size was but after going over all the features and dropped the price to $600 he couldn’t get his hand out quick enough to close the deal. I might have been able to get another $200 from the perfect buyer but I don’t understand what delayed gratification is so I gave him IMHO a great deal!

Thanks to all who helped me. I really dig this site. Class act admin!
