Merckx Criterium with DA 7400
I've been out of the C&V market for awhile, so my pricing skill is off. Helping a friend sell his Merckx Criterium with DA 7400. Any pricing thoughts?

The condition of the components might end up diminishing the selling price. And I ride only Dura-Ace!
The frameset looks in better shape, in other words. A hardcore buyer will want it for the frameset.
And potential buyers would prefer to see the condition of that bottom bracket shell, inside and out.
Without any rust or paint degradation down there, maybe it would fetch $400, in my opinion. Sell with seatpost & headset.
Then part out the gruppo, separate from the wheelset and bars. Another $300 perhaps.
Just my two cents...

How is the friend going to sell it? As you know, that matters a great deal. It seems parting bikes like that is the best way to maximize the return. But it might take longer and require more work, so there’s a trade off.

I would not sell with the most valuable part of that groupset - Easton seatpost,, which coincidently also looks in better shape than rest of parts. One of the nicest pins ever made. New owner would take it off anyway ans install new one as part of the new set-up, vintage or modern, whatever they go for.

Eddy with full DA STI and Ksyrium Elites has to be a fantastic speedster. Above the range I normally play in but I’d guess $800-$1,000 on a local CL.

Those posts are also NJS certified
Love mine, it's also on a Merckx
Price-wise, aim for $800 and see what happens
But, seriously, swap out that post, it's awesome
