1997 Bianchi Veloce Value

Hi folks,

The co-op where I volunteer recently had a Celeste 1997 Bianchi Velope donated. Itís in extremely good condition and appears to be mostly original according to my research, but there is not much info available. The drive train parts are the original Campagnolo Veloce including seat post. The stem and bars are 3T. The oddity is the wheels. They are Campagnolo Sirocco 20 aeros with bladed spokes. Again, not much info on these. The original two tone green tires are dry & weathered.

As the resident vintage guy, they have asked me to refurb it. Ití a small frame with CTCs of 51cm St & 53cm TT.

Any Idea what it might be worth with complete service and new tires?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Van

Beautiful bike. I would venture a guess of $500-$600 to the right buyer as a reasonable price. Great frameset, but there is also extra value in the details like the aero seatpost, Bianchi panto celeste cages, and the wheelset.

Agree on the price, but I wouldn't want a bike with that wheelset unless it included a 2nd set of road wheels. My first, and only, aero wheels were Sirocco 20's. I tried them on my Bianchi Trofeo, and Torelli plus a couple of my vintage bikes. They are fast, but the ride was very harsh compared to road wheels. I never rode the Sirocco's longer than 30 minutes and quickly sold them on. Old age is probably a factor. Don

Since your a coup and it's a donation any chance you might have got the matching training wheel set to go with the tri race set that is currently on the bike?

Hi folks,

Bike was sold to a junior racer in October 2023. Never saw any other wheels, but they could have been snagged before the bike was sent to me.
Cheers,
Van
