Any help identifying/pricing this?

I found this child's size bike in the woods. It is red and white, has a York badge on the front forks/handlebars, serial/model number on side of seat post says 753843, and says Made in West Germany on the back of the seat post. I couldn't find anything when Googling except an Ebay listing for the York badge but no further info. I have some pictures but can't post them yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Honestly it is better to accumulate the required 10 posts then to ask without a picture.

I have seen some of these produced by Bauer as said and some by BBC Raliegh. As said they were contract chain store bikes and not really special.

readers would be able to give you more, and more accurate(!), information regarding the machine if you were able to erect some images

on your member page here at the forum there is a spot on the right side where you can create a "member album" of images

https://www.bikeforums.net/members/n...s1-573598.html

no minimum number of posts is required to do this

readers can visit the page and place the images into the discussion thread

Hello NJdangerous1,

welcome to the forum and thank-you for posting the information about your bicycle.

I have taken a look at the pictures of your bicycle, found here:

https://www.bikeforums.net/g/user/573598

I do not know the manufacturer. As a guess the bicycle has elements of Heidemann Werks from Hanover.

I cannot find a York trademark for bicycles registered in the USA, but I have not check back beyond the late 1930s.

have seen previously the feature of the three "wings" on the side of the headplate but cannot place it

may be a clue for another reader

possible that the York headplate may be a variation of the manufacturer's own

date estimate: 1956

one possible manufacturer may be RIXE of Bielefeld

they had several head emblem iterations through the decades; there are some with the three "wings" on the sides

here is a "1960's" RIXE juvenile with resemblance to the subject cycle

note that headlugs, headset, fork ends and some other detail appear close

unfortunately gallery of cycle includes no drive side imagery
