His & Hers Gazelle Safaris

Not so much a "what's it worth" as a "would they be worth rescuing". Found at the salvage yard; fairly tragic.

I’d probably salvage them for sturmey archer bits and whatnot, but I’m kind of a vulture. Maybe even fix them up and give them away if they’re in decent shape. I wouldn’t put any work into trying to sell them.

Frames look solid, scrap all the parts. Figure what the threading of the BB is. May not want to deal with french.

Mid-seventies Dutch sports bikes. Sports as in weighing less than 40lbs.

Practical, yet sporty!

Looks like these two spent most of their lives being knocked about regularly in a (very) damp shed. Tragic indeed. Tires look like they could actually be the original items, and the paint still looks pretty decent. It wouldn't be too hard to rebuild them into a set of nice city bikes. Really.

Gazelles of that era with the chain covers could very well not have a threaded bottom bracket.

Indeed. Which would make them Thompson Gazelles, I suppose.

Thanks, everyone.
@non-fixie, around here everything looks like that if it spends more than a day outside; leave it for a week and it'll come down with a case of lichen. I'll bet you think I'm joking.
