What kind of bike is this???

(Forgive me if I've posted this twice.)
I just got this old steel racer that appears to be from the 1960's, but I don't know much about it and neither did the previous owner, who I believe was second in line. I plan to restore it and perhaps covert it to a fixie. I've stripped the frame and revealed a serial number on the left rear dropout: VSM 1451 X. Maybe it's an old Viking, as they stamped their bikes there until the end of the 60's... Who knows?
Anyway, I've attached some photos and would appreciate any feedback. I primed the frame today and tomorrow will add the top coat: I'm thinking a nice dark maroon or midnight blue, perhaps.
Here is a link to some photos: https://s628.photobucket.com/albums/u...ot/new%20bike/
Cheers,
Chris

Can you describe the components on it?

It was a 10 speed and came with SunTour VX front and rear derailleurs, Sugino Maxy chain set and cranks; the brakes are by Mafac (France), and I have no idea what the handlebars or the stem are... The forks are chrome and have something like "LRS Bend" stamped onto the dropouts, but I can really read the lettering...
Thanks!
Chris

After searching Google for "rear stays + vintage bicycyle", I came across the Sun Manxman.

After searching for "Sun Manxman + serial number", I came across bikes with very similar ID's to mine which were place in 1954/55...
I'd love to determine exactly when my bike was made. AND I'd love an original Sun head badge...

Have you posted this find to the CR list? (the website you found). There are a few on there that are very knowledgeable about old English bikes.
