I've seen this ad. on craigslist for over a year and have always been curious...

https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/1406931357.html

I don't think Chestnut Hill Bikes built frames...any ideas?

Serial Number:

M9C10264. Or it is possble that it is MYC10264

I think the seller is trying to say it was built up from a Raleigh frameset by Chestnut Hill Bikes versus them actualy building the frame from a tubeset.

Its overpriced.

Overpriced and a Frankenbike. Frankenbikes (odd mix of unrelated components) don't get top pricing, and this bike is priced out the top.

It's definitely an overpriced frankenbike, I'm just curious at to what it actually is. It has a chestnut hill head badge. I spoke with the guy and he has no idea what it is...he has a bike friend advising him.

The serial number is consistent with a 1979, Asian manufactured Raleigh. Eclectic mix of good parts on it. Probably a Tange #2 frameset.
