old peugeot from the UK - help needed to identify
I originally posted in the wrong place - sorry. I've copied my post from "classic and vintage" to below. the photos are still with my original post in "classic and vintage"
Hi All,
I've taken a few photos of my boyfriend's bike as I think it may be worth something and I want him to look after it a bit better than he does presently. He rescued it from a skip, but that's all I know about it. He has been offered money for it by strangers on the street, so what do they know that we dont?!
All help is appreciated. Sorry the photos are poor - it's locked up outside our front door and I can't unlock it because he is at work!
this is all I can tell you, I am a bike novice!!
frame sticker "reynolds 531"
the brakes say "MAFAC"
the cranks(?) (bits that attach to the pedals) "STRONGLIGHT-TS"
gears on the back "Simplex"
front gear / big chain wheel "Stronglight 52"
there is an engraving of a cyclist that says something like Guiseppe Phillipe on the handlebar right side and "france Italy D352...." on the left - but it is cut off by the handlebar tape
My little bit of research suggests that from the head badge it is 1970's and possibly french.
thanks in advance
