Black Cannondale -
This is a Criterion series Cannondale, has down tube shifters.
Size: center point of crank it is 22 1/2 inch to top bar, 24 inch to top of seat post.
There is a decal on the bottom seat stay tube indicating it is a Black Lightening. One cable hold down is loose on top bar, there are paint chips & scratches as it is a used bicycle but I can not find any dents in the Aluminium tubing.
Understand the stem, drop bars, seatpost, saddle, and wheels are not original Black Lighting parts, but this bicycle rides like the wind.
Photos - Most: 800x600 pixels
JR
I have been riding a 2010 Jamis Venture Race 15-25 miles each day, and find I do not notice every match stick in the road as I did riding the Cannondale on the same daily early morning route...

nice Cannondale. the model is R400 (or something) "Black Lightning". there were two different model years but IMHO this (the older one) was the better of the two. they have a cult following and sometimes bring decent money.

Really a nice bike.
I've seen them in the 350-500 neighborhood. The higher end contingent on market and condition.

..but this one, not so much. Great bike, and as you say, rides like the wind, but valuable BL's are either pristine original examples or ones that have been completely updated with later drivetrains. This one has different wheels, stem, seatpost, etc. as you already know, so not so valuable. But a great bike to ride.

Everyone thank you for the information.
This ebay example frame has a different head decal than mine, but looking closely at photos, I believe my frame is in better condition... But as suggested I need to get the degreaser out of the shed and clean the bicycle. Then spend a little time polishing and waxing...

Other than a good cleaning and polishing trying to change parts, matching rims, chasing down original parts etc. I do not believe I can increase the bottom line value to me, but this is a great bicycle to ride in its current configuration.
I have two other Cannondale bicycles I ride and have been upgrading/assembling from parts as I can find them locally, they are all are quill stemmed, (threaded steering tubes) and all of them have a very precise aggressive ride. But since I have started riding the Jamis Venture Race, with the Carbon fork, and Carbon mono stay I certainly notice a ride difference. I have discovered it is almost impossible to not use the newer Jamis bicycle for my daily sunrise ride. I purposely try to avoid the Vegas Summer Warmth with an early ride, and because of this bicycle ride preference I have decided it is time to let go of the on going Cannondale project collection.

Good analysis. If it doesn't speak to you, sell it to someone else and find one that does.
