Bianchi Conundrum sell frame only, frame w/ nonmatch fork or build with OK parts
Hello yes you read correctly I am considering selling a Bianchi frame.
I rescued this frame from the hands of some fixie hipster with a few issue 27" fork and a buggered up BB shell. I cleaned and waxed it, schlepped to a great old Amish bikeshop and had the BB shell faced and chased and found an OK fork, although black, for it.
Then I loving built it using some of my best hoarded parts and lots of TLC. Unfortunately I was never able to ride it last year and I just took a short spin on it yesterday and I am afraid it too big! I thought it might be but I figured i caould work it out. However in cycling shoes I am standing on it rather than over it and oddly even with the long 130 it is about 1" short in reach compared to my other bikes.
Here is the build list '82 Nuovo Racing frame Columbus Tretubi with Falck stays. this is based on the tubing decal, Bianchi decals (what is left) and clues like cable routing and nutted rear brake.
ChroMoly fork w/ Ofmega steel HS (possibly OEM)
Centaur 172.5 cranks w/ Veloce BB, Super Record RD/FD, Sachs Micro Shifters, Cobalto brakes with new KoolStop pads and late '90s style Levers, Cinelli stem w/ Scott bars, Pantographed Campi seatpost, Middleworth leather saddle. the wheels may be the only weak spot but they are Campi record HF 36h laced to mismatched tubular rims.
Should I just list this on Ebay and ask a high reserve of 1K and see what happes?
Offer the frame and fork for $250? I could offer a chrome threadless fork but no headset.
Rebuild with a mix of DA drive train, Universal 77 brakes (which would have come on this), Athena hubs laced to MA 40s and some other, but nice, seat and post?
Of course I would first list it here and be open to trades of a similar quality frame in 59 or maybe something unusual of lower quality.
