1990 Miyata 3000
Hey everyone. I've been a long time lurker and now a first time poster. I picked up a new (to me) carbon fiber road bike from a garage sale and can't find any info on it almost anywhere on the internet. I have sent it to a bike shop to get serviced and bought a new wheel, tubes and a tire. Would you guys mind letting me know if I have a quality bike on my hands and estimate it's worth?
Thanks!
-Tommy

Hi Tommyblair!
That's a brand-new bike by the standards of the folks who hang out here. - Being CF, I think you might have more knowledgeable people in the road-biking forum.
(I hear that they're not a friendly bunch though.)

It is a quality bike. With no specific knowledge of the model, I'd say it's worth about $300. If you can drum up some interest and do a little homework (find out if the frame was made by a notable carbon builder, what the componentry is, maybe a picture of a team rider on it) then you might be able to squeeze $500 out of it.

It's pretty cool, I didn't know Miyata made carbon bikes back then. The one picture doesn't help a ton (more is better) but those look like 105 components to me. If that's the case, I'd say you're looking at maybe $300 for the bike. Like Dan says, if it's something special you may be able to get more for it.
