Nice looking bike. Very clean. Looks practically new.
My guess would be that he's near the top of market value for that bike. That being said, it really depends on the market in your area. Assuming New York is a hot spot for bikes, it wouldn't be surprised if it sells near asking price.

If it is in mint/NOS condition as it seems to be, tops I'd pay for it would maybe be $450. If it had a full Superbe group on it, I'd pay more, up to maybe $650...but the bike has to be perfect with very low to no miles on it. I don't think the claim of the Sprint group value of $500 is accurate. It's definitely a fine bike, but it just won't pull in the same value as an Italian counterpart or a rarer, more sought after Japanese brand like a 3Rensho.
