Can't quite ID this Peugeot (total bike noob). Help, please!
So, I got this bike for $80. I want to restore it. From what I can tell it's made in the 70's?
Almost all the parts are simplex
I've looked around. The decals and details confuse me. I *think* it's a UO8, but I can't be sure? Anyone know what year range?
Thank you so much, in advance.

Still learning
It's either an AO-8 or UO-8, not a material difference between the two.

Looks to be from the later part of the 70's based on the wieman brakes and metal simplex rear derailleur. Based on the decals and the apparent lack of of made in France decal it looks like it could be a Canadian model.

Looks to be a late seventies Peugeot UO8, a basically entry level model but one with an excellent ride quality reputation. The bike is definitely not like any Canadian Made Peugeot that I have ever seen and I have seen a few. It looks more French to me.
The Simplex front derailleur is broken in half, an incredibly common problem with these derailleurs and the Dupont Delrin plastic the components were made from. I have others, if you seek original. If not original, install Suntour - cheap and works just great.
You should be able to determine the vintage by applying some of the information contained in How Old Is My Bike?
Hope this is a help.
