Late 80s/early 90s Pog on Indy CL
There's a nice looking Pogliaghi on Indianapolis CL:
https://indianapolis.craigslist.org/bik/4331828312.html
The guy didn't post the price, so I asked. He responded, $2100. The components are certainly not top-end for the period, and don't do justice to the frame, especially if this as nice a frame as the name suggests. It's likely a repaint, I'm a bit suspicious of the decals, and I wonder about the age. Was Pogliaghi a sell-out by the late 80s like so many other marques? The price seems kind of steep to me, and I don't need it bad. I'm mostly just curious.

Pogliaghi was Basso by the late 80s...they're reasonably well regarded and have their fans, but I'd qualify them as firmly B list in terms of price/reputation. It looks like a repaint to me, but I don't know pogs well enough to discuss the decals. Price is OUTRAGEOUS IMO. Around 3x or 4x what I'd consider fair value for CL in my area. If it's late 80s/early 90s, that seems like an odd parts choice, but he's probably wrong on the year. It's definitely too late to be a Sante frame. I wouldn't even talk to the guy at that asking price.
There's a mistaken belief by many sellers that EVERY European frame from the 80s is valuable and collectible, and it's just not so.

In that size, 8/900 may be pushing it. I'd go as high as six (maybe) on a local sale. He might get 800 on an ebay sale, but the difference will be eaten by fees and hassle.

If that's not the case, he might have some serious mental blinders on.
He'll get bites, because he didn't list a price. Which is obnoxious.
