Peugot Talisman PH8 1976 , Ballpark Value?
Hi the bike is a Peugot Talisman ph8
It's in great condition , paint has been touched up , original decals , new shiny bolts , new square taper crankset and chain , still have original cottered crank and BB if a buyer would want it . Simplex gear system , original brakes ,wheels and tyres .Just wondering how much a bike like this would be worth . Had myself guessed maybe 200 to 300 dollars but then I have seen some peugot frames on ebay for around 500 .

Any pics of the actual bike? Just what is a Talisman PH8?
Peugeot made lots of different frames from cheap to pro level quality are you seeing frames like yours on ebay at $500? Also are they actually sold auctions or for sale? You can ask what you want, but actually getting it is another thing.

Peugeot's 1981 UK catalog lists the PH8 Talisman (and says it was introduced in '79). It looks very similar in spec to the common UO-8. In short, it's an entry level bike. A solid rider, but not exactly a lightweight. Sale price is highly variable depending on condition and location, but in a lot of places, you'd have a hard time getting close to $200. For comparison, Peugeot UO-8's often sell in the $100-150 ballpark.
Those $500 (and up) Peugeots you mention? Like Bianchigirll pointed out, Peugeot built a range of bikes from entry level all the way up to Tour de France winner. A high-end racing Peugeot is obviously going to be worth more than an entry level bike.

Thanks , I think the bike is pretty much an entry level peugot as it is on the heavy side , not worth selling then to get so little I'd rather keep it just to look at .
