Rockhopper Criterium, age and worth???

All replies appreciated! Drive train, brakes and rims original as far as I can tell. Bars, stem and seat post, seat too, have been replaces as have the cables. But I'm really curious to know when it was made.

This modified example with matching paint and decals pointed me towards 1993

Then I looked for a catalog page from Specialized and found a match. Yours looks to be a 1993 Rockhopper in red (shown as an alternate color). It's the base level model, so I'm curious where you're getting the "Criterium" from.

You don't actually list any of the stock components, and the photo is from the non-drive side, so do these specs seem to match? 1993 Specialized Rockhopper - BikePedia

As for value, I see old Rockhoppers vanish quickly at $80 and linger at $120. The current bar/stem setup might hinder marketability.

The decals in the top photo seem to match as do the components as described in the catalog. THANKS!!!!

The term "CRITERIUM" is from a decal located on the top tube near the seat post. Piccies to follow within a week as I'm working lots of overtime, twelve hour shifts.

My RH was found in the dumpster at my old apartment complex and a few components were replaced. Much taller handlebars and stem were installed since I really prefer more of an upright posture even on a mountain bike. BTW no mountain bike has ever really felt good to me as far as posture is concerned. And the RH is used as my exercise bike.

My "pleasure bike" is a recently acquired Azor Oma. It's super upright posture allows me to really look at and smell the roses as it were!

Piccies to come later on. THANKS AGAIN.
