Early Merckx frameset

As much as it pains me, it's time to admit that it really is too small. Time to move it on:

Fresh repaint by Alan Wanta.
Bike has been built up with Campy 9speed since the photos were taken, so the clearance is there for "modern" drivetrains if that's your thing.
First, the bad; Didn't wait long enough to assemble, so there is a good imprint of the front derailleur clamp on the seat tube. Not an issue if you're going to run a 53 tooth chainring. If not, you're going to see it. One of the DT cable stops dug into the paint. I will have pics up of those two areas shortly.

I'd like to see $850. I that's not reasonable, someone speak up. I'd also entertain offers. If you'd like pictures of a particular area, just ask.

Size is 21.5" c-t-c on the seat tube and top tube.

I'd head straight to the big auction site with that one.

Is there some reason people so often seem reluctant to write "eBay" around here? No big deal, just wondering.

I may, if there's no action here.

Here are the two trouble areas:

The FD clamp area could clean up well, provided a mildly talented individual paid it some attention. The clamp appears to have pinched and rolled the paint up. I do have container of touch up paint that was provided by Alan to help that out.

I edited the original post after several people asked. And also, it's 21.5", or 55cm. The bottom bracket is also marked with a 5 in the correct location, denoting 55cm.

Beautiful frame. That will make someone a nice classic. Fortunately it's not my size.

Well, has lightning struck, or are you recuperating in the hospital from using that word?
