fs: 26in front wheel/ rear hub 7spd / or just hubs - Shimano Deore XT

howdy
i bought this 26in wheelset last summer (New Old Stock - not used at all). got about 3 months of use out of it before the rear rim cracked.
the hubs are "like butta" ~ 1990s Shimano Deore XT ~ just wonderfully smooth.
-- rear hub is 7spd specific!! -- won't take an 8 spd cassette.

I paid $200 or so plus some shipping (cassette, tires, tubes).

If you think you might be interested in the front wheel, rear hub, tires, tube cassette - please let me know. Maybe $100 plus shipping.

OR -
Just hubs for $57 shipped
Just cassette for $17 shipped

Thanks.

Might be easier just selling the hubs and cassette and keeping the tires/tubes for your 8 speed wheels. It's easier shipping just the hubs and there is likely not a lot of demand for what will end up being a mismatched wheel set.

~ That's definitely something I am considering. I thought I would throw them out there as a set first. I do not know what rim would need to be used to recycle the spokes on the rear wheel (or if that's even a good idea).
I am thinking about buying a set of rims from Velocity USA, and working with my LBS to see if I can recycle the spokes. Then I'm back to a good set of wheels.

Personally I wouldn't recycle the spokes. Plus they're likely to be the wrong length for your new rear wheel. Velocity rims are very good.

I'm interested in the hubs but probably not the wheels. I don't have a rim to match. I'd rather build my own wheels in any case.

UPDATE - Just the Hubs if you like!

updating the advert - willing to sell just the hubs: $57 (shipped) for the hubs if you think that's fair

Also the 7-spd cassette can be separated: $17 shipped for the cassette

Lemme know!
